What do I need to do to prepare an article for submission to an Elsevier journal?

Response
We have many resources which authors can refer to when preparing their manuscript for submission; including Authors' Home, our Guide to publication, information on Language Editing and our Author Resource Centre.

However, as each journal has its own guidelines for submission, a good starting point is the journal’s Guide for Authors. Each Guide for Authors provides instructions on how to submit a manuscript - text, graphics and artwork - and also includes information on the journal and specific guidelines with regard to the content of a manuscript. To locate the Guide for Authors for a journal, please go to the journal’s homepage (which you can find on our journal index) and follow the Guide for Authors link on the right hand menu.

If a journal requires a template to be used for submission, the template will be available via the journal's Guide for Authors. Manuscript preparation templates are available for the Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry and Tetrahedron family of publications. Click here for more information.

Most journals accept manuscript files prepared in MS Word or LaTeX. If you use LaTeX, you may find these solutions helpful:
